President William Ruto on Wednesday joined Kenyans in mourning the death of legendary musician Ali Khamisi Mwanguli popularly known as Ally B.

“I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society,” Ruto said.
“Ali Khamisi Mwanguli inscribed his message of peace deep within our I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society,” the President added.
President Ruto further described him as a musician who fostered unity in the community.

Ally B was announced dead on Wednesday.

The artist reportedly died while undergoing treatment at a Mombasa hospital, after a short illness.
Sources close to the singer say Ally B died as a result of high blood pressure.

The Mombasa-based musician is famously known for his hit songs including ‘Maria’ and ‘Bembea’.
Ally B was one of the biggest artists in Kenya in the early 2000s.

Shortly after exiting the music scene, Ally B joined politics. In 2017,he tried running for a ward representative seat in Junda Ward in Kisauni, Mombasa County under a Jubilee Party ticket in 2017.
He has been mourned by a number of public figures, including legendary artist of his era.
