Zainab Abbas, a big name that resonates with many in the world of sports presenting, is not just a television host but a trailblazer who has broken barriers and redefined the landscape of sports journalism in Pakistan.


Born in Lahore on February 14, 1988, Zainab’s journey from being a makeup artist to a renowned sports presenter is a testament to her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the sport she loves.
Zainab hails from a family deeply connected to both cricket and politics.Her father, Nassir Abbas, was a domestic cricketer whilst her mother, Andleeb Abbas is a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaaf party.


After completing her education at Aston University and earning an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Warwick, Zainab spent two years working for Dolce & Gabbana at Harrods.
Zainab’s career took an unexpected turn when she auditioned to appear as a guest on Dunya News during the 2015 Cricket World Cup. This marked the beginning of her journey in sports presenting.
Her credibility in the field grew as she appeared as a guest on BBC’s Test Match Special during Pakistan’s 2016 tour of England, gaining recognition on an international platform.
Zainab broke barriers as the first woman sports reporter and commentator to cover the ICC 2019 World Cup from Pakistan, setting a new standard for women in sports journalism.
As per the latest happening, the famous Pakistan Presenter Zainab Abbas has found herself in legal trouble as an Indian lawyer, Vineet Jindal, has filed an FIR against the media presenter over some anti-India tweets she posted nine years ago.
It has been understood that allegedly, the 35-year-old made some offensive remarks against a specific religion and the country almost a decade ago when her X (formerly known as Twitter) account’s username was “Zainablovesrk”. However, all those posts have been deleted now.
Notably, Abbas, a renowned TV presenter, got her visa sanctioned by the Indian embassy for the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, where the 1992 Champions are touted as the firm favourites for a top-four spot.
Zainab was part of the ICC digital team covering the ODI World Cup and was supposed to travel to the cities where Pakistan was scheduled to play its World Cup matches.
The Presenter had arrived in Hyderabad last week and was present in Pakistan’s tournament opener against Netherlands on October 6
