The US Embassy in Nairobi on Monday introduced fresh requirements for visa processing.

Effective immediately, applicants must adhere to the new regulations, with a deadline of May 18 set for compliance.

Through its official X account, previously known as Twitter, the Embassy conveyed this announcement, emphasizing its aim to improve customer satisfaction.

As per the Embassy’s directive, all non-immigrant visa seekers must furnish the same DS-160 application form utilized for appointment booking during their visa interview.

Non-immigrant visas cater to foreigners seeking temporary entry into the United States for various purposes like tourism, medical treatment, business, temporary work, study, or similar reasons.

“Failure to adhere to these requirements will lead to the cancellation of visa appointments,” warned the Embassy.

Applicants must locate their DS-160 confirmation page and log in to their account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ke to ensure alignment of the DS-160 number on their account with that on the confirmation page.

“If the numbers match, please proceed with your scheduled interview,” advised the Embassy.

In cases where confirmation numbers differ, applicants must visit https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx and follow instructions to complete a new DS-160. Subsequently, they should print the confirmation page for the new DS-160 and present it at their revised appointment.

After completing the new DS-160, applicants must log in to their account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ke, click on the gear icon at the far right, and select the edit button to update the old DS-160 number with the new, correct one.

Applicants experiencing difficulties inputting their new DS-160 number are encouraged to click on ‘Contact Us’ at the bottom of the webpage and follow instructions to seek assistance.

“Failure to confirm or update your DS-160 number by May 18 will result in the cancellation of your appointment by the U.S. Embassy, requiring you to schedule a new one,” cautioned the announcement.
