Celebrated Swahili Anchor, Emmanuel Terer, popularly known for his ‘ Wosia wa Terer’ Hails from Chesoen Kapcherany Sotik Bomet county.

He went to Sironet Primary and later joined Kamung’ei Dayschool for his high school education. Terer performed extremely well but due to financial constraints didn’t join college immediately.

He later made up his mind to Join Vera beauty college where he did a course in hairdressing and later went to Nairobi to look for green pastures on matters employment after completing the hairdressing course.

He then joined Kisii University to pursue his career in journalism . However in his final year, he faced financial constraints again and he had to quit.
However his talent led him to a local radio in Kitale later, where he worked. He later joined Moi university for his Media studies and while there, he worked at the school’s Tv station.

He then gracefully graduated from Moi university.

Terer, was inspired by the late seasoned KBC Journalist Badi Muhsin,and he recalls a time when he was sent away by a neighbor after being caught peeping through the window trying to catch a glimpse of what was happening at the neighbour’s then Black/White TV screen.The humiliating ordeal inspired him to work harder and he vowed to be on the screens someday.

However, Terer began his professional journey at Citizen TV where he was an intern.When his internship came to an end at citizen Tv, he worked in a salon in Kasarani Nairobi,for 8months . He was later called by switch Tv for an internship program where he performed his dues for 29days.
Tv 47 came calling and he joined the team where he worked for almost 9months,Switch Tv came calling again and this time his career was propelled.

The Swahili Journalist worked with Switch TV before choosing to begin his own Company dubbed ‘Kikosi Cha Wosia wa Terer’ which comprised a team of six including Film Hunter ,Valiner Photography,His cousins,Lawi and Gideon Lang’at,and two ladies,Mercy Chepkirui and Faith Chepkemoi.

After being away from the screens for awhile, Terer later made a huge comeback to Citizen Tv where he currently hosts an agricultural program dubbed ‘Kenya’s Gold’.

Terer, a celebrated Swahili anchor is known to many for his Prowess in Swahili Reporting and his mastery of the Swahili language.
